52 years ago I marched my first field show with Optimists at Woodstock. It was an exhibition sponsored by the local senior corps, the Woodstock Imperials. We had, of course, done a number of standstill performances throughout the winter including the Ice Capades. We had been carrying a battery consisting of an unheard of large snare line of 6 plus the usual 3 tenors, 2 bass and the late, great Stinky Copps on cymbals.
